Tending to emmulate the skeletons she works with, Tempe is bony. Her face is almost gaunt with delicately sharp features. High protruding cheek bones, a strong jaw and pointed chin. She is often too busy to worry about eating and when she does it is generally healthy food. Sometimes she does slip up and go fast food, but not often. Her hair is a rich dark brown, silken waves that fall just around the middle of her shoulderblades. She can often be seen wearing it up to keep it out of her eyes as she works. Speaking of her eyes, they resemble the pale blue of a dawn sky reflected in the watery void of a puddle. They often appear to change color to match what she is wearing, sometimes blue, sometimes grey, sometimes even green. She is taller than average, though not by much. In heels she can get nearly to 6 feet, but she prefers flats in general. She is concious of the way she dresses and always tries to appear professional in blouses, slacks and appropriately matching jewelry. Overall, Temperance Brennan is a beauty, strangely enough.
PERSONALITY: Temperance is amazingly astute, brainy and intelligent. However, this does not seem to allow any room for social skills. She is often confused by references to pop culture and has trouble understanding jokes and sarcasm. She tends to take people's words at face value, unaware if they are serious or not. Even though she seems hardened by what she does for a living, she can be quite sympathetic to the feelings of others unless she finds it ridiculous and unworthy of sympathy. She often speaks in such a way that would confuse one not familiar with science when she is referring to her work, though she doesn't do this intentionally. HISTORY: Temperance Brennan was born to Christine and Matthew Keenan in 1976. She was the second of two children, having an older brother, Russ. When she was too young to remember that her name used to be Joy, her family moved and changed their names. She became Temperance Brennan and grew up ignorant of her real name until she was 29. When she was 15, her parents went out and never came back. They left her with her brother, Russ. Tempe was too withdrawn and broken for Russ to deal with, so he left as well. She was put into foster care until her grandfather rescued her.
Because of her childhood, and in an effort to solve the mystery of her disappearing parents, Temperance threw herself into her school work and became a Forensic Anthropologist. A year and a half ago, she was reunited not only with her estranged brother, but with her mother. Her mother's remains had been at the Jeffersonian Institute since Tempe's arrival and had been labeled as a Jane Doe. She solved the mystery of her death, and began a search for her father. Max Keenan didn't want to be found. He left Tempe a message telling her to stop looking for him. It was too dangerous.
She finally came to discover the truth about her parents. They had been thieves, robbing banks. When they testified against some of the other criminals in their group, they had to go into hiding. She was reunited a few times with her father who eluded capture by the FBI, but eventually he turned himself in, in an effort to be closer to his daughter.

Bones continues to work at the Jeffersonian Institute with her best friend, Angela Montenegro and the rest of her "squint squad". She can often be found assisting FBI Agent Seeley Booth with various cases that fall within her forte, bones.
